Reproduction of a painting by Castelbajac
This tapestry is a beautiful representation of a painting by de Castelbajac, “A spiritual past, a spiritual future”. This drawing reflects events in the life of the artist, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, born in 1949 in Casablanca. This artist is mainly known as a fashion designer.
Avant-garde, he is very open to Art in general. This is how he will forge links with Jules Pansu. Indeed, the Jules Pansu design office has been creating a series of collections for several years with renowned artists such as Mirò and Picasso. It is therefore quite natural that these two actors got together to reproduce a painting by Castelbajac.
The choice of the work had to be a painting that could be transposed from the canvas to the weave while preserving the strength of the primary colours and the purity of the lines. The work “A Spiritual Past, a Spiritual Future” was thus selected, as it required a faithful reproduction of the painting.
This tapestry is woven in France, on Jacquard looms. Like all the tapestries on this site, a certificate of authenticity is glued on the back of the tapestry. Cotton lining.
